My tale of sheer luck (or skill, depending on how you look at it)

Recommended Posts

So I've been playing for about 3 days now, Died alot of times and decided to make a game plan to venture for better gear. That however involved going into a high danger area looking for items that will sustain me on long journeys further into land.

I'm on the main road between Elektro and Cherno, so i decide Cherno is a good place to set out for. Moving along towards there on the oposite side of the rail and road from the shore (figure it's safer). Come across a group of three enterable barn/farm buildings. Loot all three, coming out with a Winchester, 5 lots of ammo for it and some other assorted food/drinks that i needed.

I start to leave when i hear the door at the end of the building i'm in open, turn around, pull my newly aquired shotty out, to see a survivor there with an axe in hand. He see's me, stares at me, and then look at the ground (submission?) i turn away from him slightly and try to leave when he charges at me, swinging wildly. I panic and start unloading everything into him. It takes about 30 second of cat and mousing around the building to finally get him, i loot him, expecting nothing, and wasn't at all suprised. He had obviously looted his axe on the way from shore and this was one of the first buildings he'd came across. Start to bandage myself when the other door bursts open with another axe wielding survivor charging for me. i quickly high tail it out of there when the place errupts with gunfire. I get about 50m out and hide behind a burnt out truck for bandaging (as he'd caught me with his axe on my way out, past him).

Gunfire goes on for about 30 second before it stops. I decide to venture in to see what had happened, presuming the gunner had followed the second axer in and started shooting to help me out as i was running. I turn into a little outhouse of the building and i see the gunner out the corner of my eye prone in the corner, bullets start to hail around me again as i quickly back out of that room, pull my shotty up and get to work, He takes about 2 minutes to safely put down, with minimal damage taken, and i am supprised he had the jump on me, must have been aiming right at me yet had not managed to kill me. I Start to loot and discover a huge amount of stuff. An AKS- 74U and M9 Both with huge amounts of ammo, a huge backpack filled with amounts of medical supplies, and a pair of binoculars.

Hearing zombies start to take an anterest i hurry to replace my gear, take everything i could hold and high-tail it out of there.

I am supprised for many reasons:

I'd just made my first, contributed to a second, and third kills, They were all started when i was fired upon first, so i'm mostly free of guilt.

The axers were both eager to have at me and my minimal amount of gear when unprovoked, with such bloodthirst that i was shocked.

The third was clearly waiting for me to come back and see what was up, but never checked if i might have been friendly.

He had such loot that he shouldn't have been concerned with the squabble that i was embroiled in.

He should have killed me, has an open and easy target, but missed his opportunity.

I don't know why i'm posting this, just fairly excited and yet shocked at these people. Tell me what you think and your opinions/views, if you feel like it, if not, thanks for making it this far and have nice day(Z), but don't cross me, I'm armed and have good aim. ;)

Enjoy the good times when they happen, that's why we play this game! :)

I've shot first before, missed, and had my ass handed back to me. I don't moan and just enjoy the pressure-less, unencumbered starting area again!
