Possible Harvesting meat bug

I couldnt find any answers on the bug forum, and i'm not entily sure it is one so posting here.

I only have a hatchet as a wepon, but i also have a hunting knife, when i kill an animal with the hatchet it intialy tells me there is how many meats on the carcas, but i have no way of harvesting them.

Did they change how it works.

Or is there a bug when a animal is killed by a hatchet?

I had this problem yesterday. I walked away from the carcass (after it had said how many meat were on it) then came back and it let me pick it up. Weird but it worked for me. Maybe theres a delay or something now. Seems a bit buggy since the update.
