Saving tent after death question

I know this is like the 500th tent thread but I couldn't find the answer after searching on here and google. Apoligies if I missed it.

If you place a tent, die, then come back and save it will it still disappear after a certain amount of time? Curious because the pack tent option is no longer available.

The best I can find is 6 days or more (from the Dayz wiki). You can only pack a tent that you placed yourself.
