Hello, i finally managed to get on a server (99% of aussie servers are full) upon joining i realised my name is "user". Will this effect my time playing? IE will it remove my gear once i log out? Can i change this problem?

No it shouldn't effect you in terms of equipment and/or item loss, and yes you can change your name by going through the "player profile" option in the main menu when you load up DayZ before you enter a server.

Not a problem my friend, now go out and adventure into the crazed world of DayZ my newly named survivor/bandit! Destiny is but yours to shape!

Yeah when I just had "Arma II Free" I created a player and name. The I'd gotten the Arrowhead expansion and DayZ and started playing online. It said my name was "Owner" so i left and changed to my named player, and started where I'd left off with my "Owner" name.
