More Oceanic Servers?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a lot of the Oceanic servers are constantly full and there's only about 4. Getting in one is almost impossible with so many people wanting to connect. Any word of more servers for this region?

Gransky,

One of the main concerns is the cost of hardware and bandwidth in Australia. It's nearly 10x more expensive than USA/EU, therefore members are reluctant to put that kind of money forward, which is understandable.

We're constantly working on getting new servers up, but until then, we'll have to make do. Some of the US servers are quite fine to play, and are daylight when it's night down here.

Matt

best hope for server hosting for Aus/NZs is getting West Coast US servers. just make sure to label them as ANZ so the Oceanic crowd can find them.

a ping to a west coast US server is still acceptable, generally in the 120-150 range depending on your connection and costs a lot less than paying for hosting actually within Australia.

AusArmA was hoping to have another 2x servers up this weekend, but there was a delay in the server provisioning.

It should be up Tuesday or Wednesday.
