Using a Axe as a weapon?

I've only seem to have found axes and some crap like jerry cans and what not...

Can I use the axe (hatchet) as a wep? I can't toggle to it by hitting 'F'.. Hard to find guns and ammo for them :(

With the hatchet, you have to open up your inventory, right click on your hatchet and "remove from toolbelt". It will then be take to your primary weapon slot. When you find a primary weapon, first open up your inventory and right click your hatchet and put it in toolbelt.

Wait, hold on a sex. Are you for sure asking where you can get ammo for the hatchet? Well if so, unistall DayZ.

And yes! you can use hatchet as weapon, when you have one, search for a gun.
