Backpacks in tents? (fully equiped backpack)

Recommended Posts

Question: Can you put empty/full backpacks inside tents? After playing for awhile now i haven`t really messed around with tents very much. But now that i got pretty good equipment and some extra guns in my car. I usally put the good stuff inside the tent and go newb into the big towns(cherno, electro, stary, berenzino and ofc NWAF) with just a decent gun and empty backpack..

And can i have more then one tent(on same server)

Thx in advance..

Ive put a backpack in a tent before, just be careful about putting more than one, because I put 2 alice packs in once and one disappeared. And yes you can have more than one.

Yes, sure you can playce as many tents as you find. And you can put in there bagpacks too, but i'am not sure how many in one tent. To get better infos just check the DayZ wiki. http://dayzwiki.com/wiki

Dont forget to hit "save old camping tent" if you dont do it, it might disappear.

Hehe yeah I know but thx anyway :) just found the answer to my own question on dayzwiki. posting if anyone else is wondering : A tent can hold up to five backpacks, ten weapons & tools and fifty general items... Thats alot! :o

For example one tent can hold five binoculars, five M4A1s, fourty STANAG mags, ten engine parts and five backpacks at the same time. If you place a filled backpack into the tent, the contents of the backpack will remain.

Yeah you can put packs in tents.

In fact you can hold more stuff by filling up a bunch of alice packs, and then putting them in the tents, rather than putting the items straight in the tent.

So what your saying is that 1 full backpack is actually only one item/spot in the tents right?

Yeah never trust server restart right :) I mostly gonna use it for clearing towns instead of bringing a sniper into town where i don`t need it.

Tents are items that offer a source of storage to players. They do not save from server to server but on the originating server they were deployed on. Deployed tents cannot be stolen, however the items inside can be.

WARNING as of patch 1.7.1.5 tents will often reappear empty after server restarts regardless if the save command was used.

There are 3 item types:

A tent can hold a fixed amount of each item-type, within the item-type each item counts as one (unlike in the Inventory system). A tent can hold up to five backpacks, ten weapons & tools and fifty general items. For example one tent can hold five binoculars, five M4A1s, fourty STANAG mags, ten engine parts and five backpacks at the same time. If you place a filled backpack into the tent, the contents of the backpack will remain.

Tents require 3 Inventory slots and can be placed in Backpacks.

All the experiences we've had with full backpacks being placed in tents have turned out poorly. I'm fairly sure that if you do, you will lose either a) lose the items within the bag or b ) lose the items AND the bag.

I'm sure it has something to do with nested data or something, as both as considered containers.

If someone has evidence indicating otherwise, cool, but we've never chanced it.
