DJ PonyWub 0 Posted July 14, 2012 Ok so my friend we recently bought him operation arrowhead and he got the free version of arma 2 and when we finally found him he was running really slow... like his animations are slow as well as his speed (there was no health problems with his character either) . we obviously cant play dayz with him while he runs like this.. we tried having him reinstall both arma 2 free and operation arrowhead we tried having him verify his cache we checked his ping we checked his bandwidth we checked his graphical settings... nothing worked.. he says he has no fps lag or internet lag.. hes just slow :(. can anyone help us out on this issue please T^T? another weird thing is for some reason zombies cant catch him either :l

EpsilonNaught 9 Posted July 14, 2012 I have problems with framerate issues sometimes and that severely slows me down. If the game ain't smooth, moving ain't smooth. I always fall behind the team I'm running with when it happens, and it may last for a few minutes before going back to normal. Try adjusting some of the video properties if that seems to be the case. SystemiK 366 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) A fair amount of people have reported having this movement speed bug.A friend of mine had it for about 6 weeks as well. We did comparisons in sprint speed (taking into account movement penalties for weapon, stance, run/walk etc.) On average he was full sprinting at around 65% of my sprint speed. If I sprinted in crouch posture and he sprinted standing I could still outpace him slightly. At one point we found that if he used 3rd person view he could run at my speed, which worked as a temporary fix. Since then I gave him an old 4870 gpu I had laying around and his sprint problem has entirely disappeared. I would have previosly argued to the death that a GPU could not be related to this movement speed bug but but after seeing the GPU upgrade fix his problem entirely on the spot, I may have to change my opinion on this.Search the forums for "movement speed" you will see that while this issue does not affect most people, it is still a huge problem for many. There are at least half a dozen posts here where many people have also reported this problem. Edited July 14, 2012 by SystemiK

SystemiK 366 Posted July 15, 2012 I'd be interested to know if the 3rd person view helped. It worked great for my buddy (except he hated 3rd person view), but others reported no change in run speed between 1st and 3rd person views. What you reported about animations is true. He always looked like one of those excersise freaks who do that speed walking thing when he had the bug. What are your friends specs?
