_Profile_Shame 37 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) I know most of this would be cosmetic and therefore be low on priority lists as of now but parts of this could positively grow gameplay potential... here is something that illustrates the comical nature of the blood now Blood Waterfall (Youtube)THINNER BLOODI love the blood we have now, though its comical due to how large the stream is.. if it was smaller/thinner and possibly random in colour/tone selection it would look pretty coolBLOOD POOLSBlood could add to gameplay through becoming an indication of past violence..I think it was in the rezzed interview where rocket says he toyed with the idea of making blood stain the hands of people who drag or loot bodies.. though this was meant as a 'bandit fix' somewhat, I think it would add alot to gameplay.. and I am what most people would consider a 'bandit'its just a logical scenario given the amount of blood you deal with in this game, and would work as another thing to factor into whatever decision people are forced intolikewise, blood splatter/pools/tracks would, if they were limited in time existing, add yet another level to gameplay - tracking players that are wounded through a city... coming across a bloody scene one moment then meeting a player thats covered in blood the next.. I think it would be greatDISMEMBERMENTIdeally I would like dismemberment for everything (even animals) but apparently survivors are next to impossible in terms of the engine - the only solution I can see would be alot of work (custom models for each limb for each clothing type available)But according to another interview with rocket (ill link these if I find them) dismemberment for zeds is possible, infact its quite easy to enable and is just an artists issue at this point - meaning it doesnt look good and needs to be refinedObviously, this being a 'zombie' game, dismemberment would add alot of atmosphere and thus gameplay.. it would feel right having things react relatively realistically to close range high powered shots to respective limbs Thoughts? Barronism 88 Posted July 14, 2012 Not to sound disgusting here, but human meat is edible. Though I think resorting to cannibalism is an extreme, why would someone choose death over the freshly killed body five feet away?
_Profile_Shame 37 Posted July 14, 2012 lol was that meant for the dismemberment thread? I mean thanks either way for the bumpI support integration of shameful cannibalism btw
Nyla 27 Posted July 15, 2012 Finding someone from a trail of blood, would be awesome. Also, yes to cannibalism!
takfar@gmail.com 24 Posted July 15, 2012 Yes to zed dismemberment! trails of blood would be great. Any trail, really... Maybe some way to track players and animals in the wild (tho I fail to see how it could be implemented without becoming a cheesy "glowy trail" kind of thing. _Profile_Shame 37 Posted July 15, 2012 if it was literally just blood stains on the floor / walls, then it would blend in well enough to make it a challenge
paradox. 12 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) +1 all the idea's also the canabalism but these should all be intergrated after bug fixes but good idea's.Also scientist had found that with a native tribe that were canabals when they had eaten humans alot they got a certain disease forgot what it was but it just makes you shake a little and you tend to get headaches more often(not really a big deal but would be cool if you did shake a little only a tince more than normal if you had eaten human more than 5 times but only last for shortened periods) Edited July 15, 2012 by paradox.
