Combined Operations?

So, basically, not gonna lie, I downloaded ARMA II for this mod. However I went and downloaded ARMA II and Operation Arrowhead separately, instead of purchasing Combined Operations. Will this affect how the mod is downloaded? Do I NEED Combined operations or can I simply have the two separate games?

You already have Combined Operations, when you right click Operation Arrowhead you can see "Launch as combined operations"

I bought the game for this mod as well, now im getting an error message and there's no working solution and i've been looking for a way to fix it for 6 hours, now im giving up and just accepting the fact I wasted $30 on an awesome game I cant even play.
