How is it even lagging?

I'm wondering how bad did the developers optimize this game. I'm playing at a fairly low settings and it still lags when i'm looking at forests and vegetations and such. Actually, if they optimized this game properly i think my rig would be able to run this game at higher settings without lagging.

My system specifications:

Intel i5-2310 Quad 2.9 Ghz

Sapphire HD 5750 1gb

6 gb RAM

1.5 terrabyte memory

It's really sad that i can't play this game without lag thought, i so wanted to enjoy this game.

same thing happens to me but only if i join a US server. i get strange lags when i look at the forest/towns/cities. but zero lag when i look at the sea.

I only started experiencing lag yesterday. Before then it's been absolutely fine, so it's probably either down to the latest patch or overloading of the hive rather than poor optimisation of Arma 2.

Most certainly you screwed up your settings. My system is low-budget, low-energy from 5 years ago and it works just fine.

FYI: Don't put any settings on low. There are some settings that use the CPU instead of the GPU when set to low.

Also there are some servers that are bugged so they will pull anyones sytem down to ~5 fps.

Well i hope so, in Can You Run It, i'm supposed to be able to run this game at max settings without any kind of lag and that's what i get. The game is disappointing me.

Just have a mess around with your settings, just go through a bit of trial and error until you feel that its working right. Does this happen on specific servers or just in general?

It's getting ridiculous, the only way i can play without lag is at lowest settings 1280 X 960 resolution.

DayZ lags in a creepy way, atleast for me. I mean everything in the game world is fine, only other players seem laggy for me. I don`t have any last trend PC or anything. I have 4 GB RAM and the game works pretty damn well on normal settings, just some time-to-time freezes that seems other players experience too.

But I met like 4 players untill now and man, some were lagging so bad that one sec they were walking behind me, the next minute they were popping up way further.

READ CAREFULLY: Lowest settings deactivate your GPU. You are making it worse.

DayZ lags in a creepy way, atleast for me. I mean everything in the game world is fine, only other players seem laggy for me.

Server/Hive-Lag. Z is on your machine not on theirs.
