Cageman 0 Posted July 14, 2012 I was wondering what it would be like if there were NPC bandits that are a random encounter, usually inland and carry better gear and are more skillful the further north you go. Not usually one bandit but maybe groups of 3-6 max, this might spice gameplay up a little bit and you wouldn't feel as bad killing an NPC than a player would you? Last of all is a bit of a silly suggestion but would add to the horror side of it. A Sasquatch or Bigfoot for example that spawns once every night on the darkest hour of night in a random, large forest like the Black forest. This big fella should be able to sustain large arm fire and creep around making large thud sounds where he steps, or knocking over trees. Let me know what ya think ^_^

Zeromentor 169 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) No AI people, and by "large arm fire" I hope you mean "Small arms fire". Small arms includes but is not limited to: Assault rifles like M16s and AK47s, Rockets or propelled grenades like RP7s, AT4s, as well as handheld grenades.I don't know what a "large arm fire" would be. Possible military mobile cannons like the M256?Either way, I don't support this. Edited July 14, 2012 by Zeromentor
wurocket 3 Posted July 14, 2012 If you didnt know already: ARMA 2 AI fucking sucks. It mostly involves laying with your face in a wall.Zombies in DayZ are smarter than insurgents in ARMA.
vjese 20 Posted July 14, 2012 sasquatch id actually allready in game, searh the forums and google. aswell as youtube, there are several video's about it. it's originally in arma 2. but dayz mod didnt remove it. it spawns at night, and actually seems to roam mostly the black forest. it makes a deep growling sound, kills you in 2 melee hits, and takes several grenades to take down. he also seems to mostly be near a humvee that spawns with him, and he protects th area around it.
Ash_Lee 2 Posted August 6, 2012 It is not a terrible idea, it just has a few seemingly negative results. I would not mind as much dying to a npc bandit as I would the random player bandits though.lol

On Expert with SuperAI turned on, Arma II's AI is much better than most of the people who play DayZ.Seriously, 'sniping' at 300 meters or even less? TL;DR: If Arma's AI was added to DayZ it would be a rapefest. Edited August 6, 2012 by MasterFancyPants

Anyway, maybe not a sasquatch but I like idea of something dangerous and scary spawning around the map at nights..
