Lag in Day-Z, but no lag in the normal Arma Games

Recommended Posts

Hello there everyone,

Yesterday I purchased the games Arma II and the DLC Operation Arrow Head,

They are quite fun games, and they both run great on my PC, however my buddy told me about the DayZ mod, and I went to try it out and....it lags... a lot

On the normal arma games (including Arrow Head) I seem to get 40-50 FPS on high settings

On DayZ I am lucky if I can get 20 FPS on the lowest settings,

Also, I have noticed that when downloading the updates, the download speed seems to only be around ~10 Kb/s, and my internet is ~2MB/s (however many people seem to have that issue) I am using the Six Updater/Launcher

I supose I should start off with my PC specs

OS - Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)

Processor - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition @ 3.20Ghz

Ram - 4 GB DDR3 Running at I believe 1333Mhz

GFX Card - GTX 480 (EVGA) @ 1920 X 1080

I have tried the fallowing

- Restarting the game and the machine

- Screwing around with the video settings witch includes turning them down to the lowest settings

- I have tried chaning the CPU priority in task manager

-Closing any unneeded programs

- I even tried closing the launcher after the game started

I am kinda out of ideas guys, any help is truly appreciated ^_^

Always run arma and all arma related stuff as administrator that help's a lot.Furthermore you should probably try to install manually a older version of dayz and go check whether it is a bug in the newest update that causes the lag issues.
