getting an Error

im getting this strange error and i cant figure out how to fix it

its says:

Data file too short 'c:\programfiles

right click the game in steam > properties > local files then down to verify integrity of game cache

it should find files that are missing/corrupt and download them if necessary

I did what you said after scanning and downloading to 100%

"1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired"

the game still gives me the same error i ran the scan acouple times still the same error

DayZ_Anim? It sounds like you need to re-download the file.

Maybe if you upload dayz_anim.pbo, I could take a quick peak, to me it sounds like the file didn't extract correctly.

Did you use the updater or extract it yourself?

Download it from the main site, don't always rely on installers.
