How do you place a Bear Trap without breaking your own legs? ><

Hi, so I was in Novy Sobor and found my first Bear Trap, I went to place it next to a deerstand close to Novy Sobor, all was good until I was trying to get away from the spot I placed my Bear trap..

Broke my leg trying to walk away from it, so I figured the trap is now used and I need to reset it, so I go and pick it up to place it even closer to the deerstand, only to find myself in the same situation above, again broken leg... thanks god I had two morphines, can anyone please tell me how to safely place a bear trap without losing your own legs?

Can you do it prone? Might be worth a try. Keep primary equipped though so you don't stand then place it.
