Character not saving...

Recommended Posts

Hey, after putting in about 5 hours yesterday into DayZ, I logged on this morning (to the same server) to notice that none of my character information was saved. I purchased the Steam Summer Sale, and have Sixupdater/Six launcher, and everything runs fine and is up to date. Is there anything that I need to do in order to save my characters items/location?

I read around a bit on this and everyone says the it saves to "The Hive", but it didn't appear to do that. The server was US 269 if that helps at all.

Thanks!

Obviously some form of bug, either on the servers end of not sending the data to the hive (database where everyones information is) or you joined a server running a vastly different version of the game.

Its a problem with the latest patches. People are having it randomly.

Try joining other servers and if that does not work just kill yourself and see what happens.

Most servers save the the hive, the only servers that do not are unofficial private servers.

If you played a unofficial server, its more then likely that any other server will not have the same data,

Only servers that allow you to save your character are official servers.

It could also be the server never saved you. Manually disconnect often so the server will save you. Although most of the time, servers do autosave.

Could it be a CD key issue also? Whenever I log on (it doesn't launch through steam) and I join a server I have to choose male/female again.

And how can I tell if it's an official server?
