It's an apocolypse. There will be murder and pillaging. But...

Day Z is near zombie survival simulation. What's stopping it from being there? (aside from the random bug or glitch?) combat logging, or leaving the game to avoid a fight, or avoid a pack of zombs on your tail. I'm looking for real suggestions to fix this issue. I will start by saying penalize loggers. If a person logs out and back in to any server in a matter of let's say, 1-10 minutes, they should remain unconscious for a period of time. The only issue I can see is if someone is being kicked because of battle eye ping. That should also go. There isn't any reason for a ping limiter. Ping is often all over the charts. This feature restricts many people from being able to play.

In closing. I think combat loggers could be dealt with using this method. Then, if you combat log, you will be a sitting duck...like you should be for being a douchebag. Peace!

I logged out last night, and then reconnected <30 seconds later, due to glitch where the infected that was attaching me was rendered invisible. After reconnecting I could see/kill it. I think that while the game is still in Alpha, penalizing people for reconnecting would be counter intuitive.

Rocket already is aware of combat loggers and has worked to fix it in the past. He isn't there yet, but it's on his radar. Unfortunately, there are bigger issues to sort out right now.

You should play the 7.1.2.1 build (experimental build) Zombies do not despawn upon d/c.... so lets just say the map is littered with them and... they will molest your corpse that stays there 5 seconds after D/C.... They are actively working on the combat logging issue, the 5 min PVP dmg timer is one such measure, your body persisting 5 sec after d/c is another. I for example killed 2 people who d/ced after my initial shots... I couldn't loot their bodies but my murder count went up by 2.... I hope they enjoy the coast!

What a new and unique idea! I'm sure that if I used the search bar, this would be the ONLY result in the entire forum. Who would have thought about putting a timer on DCers and server hoppers? You, sir, are a genius. PM this idea straight to Rocket, he'll do it today.

You bring a very valid point. Good thinking. Unfortunately, it seems to be a catch 22. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of the dayzdev team's office. Thanks for the input.

Fortunately, for those of you who can't read, namely, syneregy, and thorgold, I can clear this up for you. This is a discussion to ellicit ideas from the dayz community about combat logging.

This is not a bitch fest about combat logging. So go fuck yourself. Fucking Troll. Apparantly you havent been hit in the mouth recently thorgold. You, sir are full of sarcasm and other bullshit I find in weak people. Note, location=vagina. Anything else?

Good point on this timed dc issue. Does seem a bit buggy to try anything like that now. Everyone i talk to comes up with the same thing. Surely there could be other punishments, or preventions.

Hence the thread...douchebag.
