TheNoobKing 6 Posted July 13, 2012 Hello. I live with my family in one house and we have two computers. We both bought Arma 2 and played it a couple of months ago. We stoped and now we wanted to do that again. So we entered the game and my brother spawned at the place I was in a few days ago. So we checked if he was on the right account, and he was. So I wanted to join and entered the server. It kicked me out, and that happend a few times, we noticed that each time I do that my brother got a message about illegal copies in the game. So I've noticed we can't play on the same server if connected to the same network. We both bought the copies and we are not happy about this, we are quite angry. Does this mean we can't play together any more? Why did we buy two copies then? I want this fixed ASAP. Thanks. :(
Birdz 0 Posted July 14, 2012 I'm having the same issue as bob_cart except that instead of being in the same house, it's with my friend from another state. I have no idea how this happened. Though before he bought the game the other day I let him log into my steam account and play dayz for a bit. Now though he had bought it and we played together fine but we can't be in the same server and sometimes we can't be online together at all. It keeps saying "CD Key In Use". Also as bob_cart said, we are basically playing the same profile and when one of us moves, the other spawns where he was. It's very stressful.
Onus 1 Posted July 14, 2012 Where did you purchase the game? Steam? Have you tried verifying game cache for each Arma game in your libraries?

Torndeco (DayZ) 46 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Assuming same you are same person i helped out earlier on irc.But just incase / for other people that get same problem aswell...Same steam account was used to play Dayz / Arma2 on both machines before a second copy was bought. This resulted in both machines having the same cdkey in windows registry, even though both steam accounts owned seperate cdkeys.Faster way is to use regedit.exeStart -> Search Programs and files -> regedit.exeEdit -> Find -> type in "Bohemia Interactive" (no quotation marks)Left side of regedit u will see a folder tree. right click & delete Bohemia Interactive Bohemia Interactive StudioRelaunch steam as adminstrator i.e right steam & pick run as adminstratorLaunch Arma 2 & Launch Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. If u dont like to use regedit, another solution is toBackup Arma2 + Arma2 OA (saves on downloading again)Unistall Arma2 + Arma2 OAUse a tool like ccleaner to clean up windows registry.Install Arma2 + Arma2 OA from backup.Relaunch steam as adminstrator i.e right steam & pick run as adminstratorLaunch Arma 2 & Launch Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. Both do the same thing regedit way is just faster. I'm assuming the other process will do the same so we didn't try it. But question, when using Regidit, we only saw the folder of "Bohemia Interactive Studio". Was there supposed to be another named "Bohemia Interactive"? Because we didn't see it. Edited July 15, 2012 by Birdz

Anyone who has this problem just do this, it's fast, it's simple and it works. Thank you so much! And we also didn't see just the Bohemia Interactive, we saw only the studio one.
