Dear Esther and DayZ

Recommended Posts

Some of you might already have seen this game before, or maybe even this very video.

But as I was watching I could not help but imagine how DayZ would play out in a world like this (visually).

Check it out:

Just thinking about it gives me shivers.

Edit: This is not a suggestion. I know that it would be impossible to achieve these kind of visuals for an open world game like DayZ.

Probably poorly, it's all corridors and not an open world at all.

It looks like it's just based on the coast.

I played Dear Esther and Day Z based in the Outer Hebro...(Scotland) would be great. Although not many villages, and no cities:(

I guess it woulnd't play out that well, since PvP is an important aspect. And I don't think many people out there have a NASA computer.

It's so much easier for other games/engines to "look good" when you have to render 0.1km^2 instead of 250.

Dear Ether looked nice, but since it was all corridors... Heck, it was less of a game DayZ is.

Would make a nice setting tough.

Would make a nice setting tough.

That's all I'm saying.

I know that it would be impossible to achieve this with todays home computers. It's not meant as a suggestion in any way.
