I have a character with that I use with a friend, I was wondering If I created a character with a different name would it save both toons? Or can I only have one.

Like I want to play when hes not on but I risk dying, but If I had a second toon one to mess with and the other with him, I can play the other one and when he logs on I can change my profile to the one with him and be able to be at the same spot where him and I left.

Is this possible?

No. Character is linked to your game and if you create a new profile it doesn't start a new character.

I did this.

Set up two accounts on your computer (presumably you already have one).

I have Steam. So I set up steam on the second account with a new steam name.

So essentially, you have two, separate steam/user account combinations.

I then bought a second copy, so I have two sets of cd keys.

When I'm playing solo, I use one account. With friends, the other.
