Galdeon 0 Posted July 13, 2012 I just wanted to suggest that you guys could create server files für Linux ( Ubuntu). I think that would bring a lot more server. I can hardly understand why you created these only for windows server :/
Knugen 2 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Most of the server applications are developed for Windows Server to start with. It would be strange otherwise since it's the main server OS at most enterprises. I don't agree that it "sucks" and it has more supported features than Linux OS. Linux can be running more stable/faster sometimes since it's more lightweight than Windows, and in time they will probably develope the application for Linux as well. McFluffy (DayZ) 3 Posted July 13, 2012 To me it makes sense that the servers are windows based, since (I assume) the game engine is made on windows. While I agree it would be nice with Linux, if not for anything than cost savings. But it will be just out of reach for a free-mod developer to make his own linux version of the server files.
