Latency or something else?

Hi,

I have been killed a couple of times today in a weird way.

First time I was in a house with only one entrance I was pointing my gun at the entrance and didn't see anyone come in, but still someone shot me.

Second time I sneaked up to someone who was changing gear and emptied 2 clips in him including a few head shots, the guy didn't die, but I did mysteriously. When I was lying on the ground with the hourglass thingy only then the guy turned around and started shooting (while i was already dead).

So is it possible that I am encountering a delay in what I see? For me someone had not turned around and started shooting while he actually was?
