FPS Skipping

Can anyone help me, my computer runs DayZ great for about 3 seconds and then it skips, it keeps skipping every 3 seconds.

It lags the whole interface, when i try to type it skips, when i try to change my video settings it skips.

I have an Asus laptop.

You have to be more specific then "Asus laptop". Could I have the name of the laptop or the specs please?

8 GB Ram

Geforce gtx 560M 2gb

I talked to someone who was running a DayZ stream and they said they had the same problem, it was something running in the background like a antivirus software that was making the game skip. I turned my antivirus software on its "Gamer Mode" and still nothing changed.

I turned off my antivirus and that changed the skipping, it made it more frequent but it didn't last as long, my video settings do not effect the skipping.

I really could be anything. I have had this on a server that needs to be reset, try like 5 different servers (in different places) and see if it still does it. This game is very reliant on the server synch.

I joined a server with about 5 people and it worked way better, like there was almost no skips, but that was all i have found, every other server skips, someone said i need to verify game cache, and someone else said i need the beta patch, idk what it is yet..

Whenever i go to join a server it says the server is outdated, the skipping occurs in the chat bar, and in the options bar, in everything.

Lol now every server i join flashes, the screen is completely black and suddenly flashes every like 30 seconds...

Maybe try reinstalling dayZ? Or if your using six launcher reinstall that. If you're not using six launcher go out and get it. Dosen't sound like a performance issue at all. Maybe your internet is being a bit skiddish?

Its not my internet, i can run any game perfectly fine no lag.
