Waly 8 Posted July 13, 2012 Hey,I have a question how long i must wait for agree a Server ?Sorry for my bad [eng]
Lith 80 Posted July 13, 2012 Could be weeks. Most people wait at least 2.
xbamaris 42 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) I guess I wish I knew WHY we have to wait 2 weeks when we pay for our servers... I feel like I'm wasting money and there's no way to order an instance ID before I get a server.I guess I don't quite understand what takes 2 weeks to approve something that takes 30 seconds to look over. With no constant information by Admins I feel that they are abandoning their own system. xbamaris 42 Posted July 13, 2012 But those 500,000 players aren't sending requests for Instance ID's.

xbamaris 42 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Right. Which is why it doesn't make sense that it takes so long... And that people who've waited 3 days get their instance ID's versus people who have waited 4. Edited July 13, 2012 by xbamaris
urbanfox 116 Posted July 13, 2012 This is a mod where these people aren't getting paid for this. It's a completely free service for the end-user. I have no concrete guess about how many server hosting requests they get, but I'd be willing to bet it's a ton. Per day.Hang in there, realize this is alpha, and ride the wave. xbamaris 42 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) I'm aware of this. As I've said in some other posts, it would be very helpful for some Day Z admins to just give us some details to help usunderstand how the whole process works.A brilliant idea would be to do an "express" checkout where people can actually pay to get their instance ID's earlier or in a "guaranteed" time. Not sure how much bad rep that would get. But it would probably be a very popular addition. Edited July 13, 2012 by xbamaris

I hate having a server that I pay for just sitting there doing nothing.
KingHammer 1 Posted July 13, 2012 Jep we waste money for the Servers but cant use it :D I can understand that they have many things to do, but any Infos would be great. I wait 5 Days and others only 2 thats strange.
pepperkorn@gmail.com 94 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) well lets see, I'm hypothesizing on the process but lets say 1-2 guys take care of the approval process. They receive I'm gonna guess about 20 applications a day.1 applicant might result in the following process.Dev receives applicationDev has to RDP onto server, check it's hardware, check it's bandwidth capabilities, stress tes, etc... ~1hrDev then has to create instance ID for server (maybe based on hardware id?) ~30mintes???Maybe I overlooked possible steps but anyway..assuming they are on 8hr work days that's about 1.5hrs per server app.20server apps * 1.5 hours each / two dev's processing them a day = 15 hours of work, so if they only work 8 hours a day I can see how it would get backed up to around a 2 week approval process. You'd be better off getting a dedicated server from a few of the hosting companies that are on this forum, as they usually have servers pre-approved ready to go. xbamaris 42 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) RDP is no longer a requirement.Leading the rest of your argument invalid. What is there to stress test if they already know what processor you have? Maybe to confirm the processor, but thats it, no sense in stress testing when they already know it works on the specified processor. Speedtest network, takes 1 minute. OP asked why it takes so long, I offered one explanation, it's not an 'argument' as you think it is either.

Dekken 2 Posted July 13, 2012 Why not have resellers or extra admins? I assume people would want to help out with the whitelisting.I also thought about an idea, if server hosting companies have automated whitelisting, why can't they just sale whitelisting plans? For example I will go to vilayer and buy a whitelisting service for 5$, which will give me all the files and instructions, and whitelist my server instantly.Seems far off a better idea, meh. Lith 80 Posted July 14, 2012 I agree they should add more people able to approve of requests. At this point just be patient. There's plenty of us with servers who waited well over a week to be approved.
Orcworm 18 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Submitted monday and received my confirmation this morning so it's definitely faster than it used to be. Edited July 14, 2012 by Orcworm
