New player with some questions :)

Hey all,

First off, thanks for taking your time to read through my questions!

I was wondering how does the Survivor and Bandit system work exactly? How do you become a bandit? And if you are one is it possible to go back to survivor? My 'guess' is that when you kill another player you become a bandit? What happens when you kill another player that was out to kill you?

Another thing I'm quite concerned about and the main reason why I'm opening this thread, I saw some posts concerning people afraid of getting perma-banned by looting weapons that are not allowed. I wonder though, how can it that these weapons exist in the game if they are not allowed? How can a player ever know what they can and can't do if its freely available in the game world? Are hackers bringing those weapons into the game? Some clarification on this would be awesome :)

Lastly, I'm having extreme difficulty maneuvering through the dark, any tips? EDIT: Let me clarify that I LOVE the night time game play and the fact it's pitch black is amazing. The tension and atmosphere it creates is 2nd to none, so please do not see this as a complaint. Just some tips on how to be more effective in the dark when all you have is flares would be amazing :)

1: You kill a player that is not a bandit you lose humanity. When your humanity reaches a certain point you become a bandit on your next life.

3: Sadly no, just turn your brightness and contrast up. ;)

2. I heard somewhere that people would pickup weapons that were not supposed to be in the game and got banned.. But I think it is a very rare occasion, kind of a glitch I guess :) Unless you pickup a heat-seeking missile launcher, you should be fine :DD If you're not sure, you can always check here: http://picacid.com/arma2/loot_en.html .

Basically if your humanity is under 0 you will turn into a bandit. Now theres also a special system with how much humanity you will get or lose when killing someone but I am not familiar with it.

Supposedly the only way to know if a weapon is not available to you is if it doesn't have a picture for it, so if you see one without a picture then don't pick it up.

As far as being afraid to pick weapons up, don't be. hacker weapons are very few and very far between.

check out the dayz wiki, and it'll give you an overview of what is supposed to be in the game thusfar
