The most epic fail in Day Z history

Three of my friends and I were driving around the North-West airfield a couple of weeks ago. My friend Nick (who is known for his lucky loot finds,) shouted for the driver to stop and then says:

“Is that a plane?”

We were all pretty excited at this point and go driving into the trees where, sure enough, there was a fully armed A-10 in perfect condition. I had the most experience flying on Arma 2 (I had played a tutorial for a while when the Day Z servers were down) so I selfless called dibs on being the one to fly it. After all this was an amazing find and it would be a shame to crash into the first hurdle. Unfortunately when I got into the plane I noticed one of its wings was stuck on a tree and when I tried to free it I only made it worse. We thought for a while about how to fix this and tried shooting down the trees with the plane and even using our car to push the plane free. This didn’t work and after a while Nick wanted a go in the plane so I tentatively let him. I was out of the plane for about 10 seconds before my ears were ringing and I was flying face first into a wall. I looked in the bottom left of the screen and see that my three buddies had died as well. Everyone is laughing and trying to figure out what had happened when we hear Nick sheepishly say through suppressed laughter

“I think I dropped the bomb.”

So if anyone was near the airfield on the UK24 {TST} Hamfoe server and heard an almighty explosion it was the sound of four people dying and losing an A-10, a GAV, 4 Alice packs, a car full or medical supplies and vehicle parts, 4 decent rifles and pistols and all the ammo and supplies we could carry because my friend Nick dropped a bomb with a grounded plane. It was just about the funniest thing to happen to me in Day Z though.
