Gashed 16 Posted July 12, 2012 Looting a grocery store deep north east, Nothing in it. At all. Nothing. Zilch. No empty cans, no flares, no trash. Nothing.I ran around the town a bit looking for loot, nothing, in every apartment complex or small house. Stopped at the hospital, grabbed some supplies. Ran back to the grocery store, suddenly it's full of goodies. I disconnected and then (straight after, no wait, so NOBODY else looted it) reconnected and wow. Nothing is there, again. Everything that spawned vanished. What the hell is going on and why is this not being talked about everywhere?
Tex Willer 47 Posted July 12, 2012 When you get to a building too fast it won't spawn loot unless you move away. You gave yourself the answer: "Stopped at the hospital, grabbed some supplies. Gashed 16 Posted July 12, 2012 and even so, that's ridiculous. Loot doesn't spawn in buildings you're in? What's the point in looting if you have to enter a building, run a mile away from it, and then run back?

GunzBlazin 4 Posted July 12, 2012 spawns are attached to you or your buddy sometimes, this is also true for zombies

rodolyde 3 Posted July 12, 2012 I've been suffering from this, ran into 2 completely empty deer stands and in Pustoshka i found only a crowbar in the church and a tent in the supermarket. Nothing else, not even the usual trash. So how are we supposed to get the usual stuff ? Spend 30 mins in the city hoping that a player doesnt come and that a horde of zombies doesnt see you from Chernogorsk?
madzeds 3 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) What the hell is going on and why is this not being talked about everywhere?Nobody talks about it because anytime anyone explains how loot works. Everyone flames and calls the knowledge to be an exploit. (Loot cycling etc.) Which is strange because if you were told how loot works but noone explained how it respawns and cycles your really only getting half the story.Basically, when you begin to see a town, zoom in, if there are no zombies than there is also no loot. When you get close enough for zombies to spawn, it takes a few additional minutes for loot to spawn. So wait. I know this explanation is very flawed and there are exceptions and yada yada.On a side note, has anyone else noticed zombies continuing to spawn at deer stands nearly everyother minute? I walked into visual sight of a deerstand and watched the 1st 3 zeds spawn so I knew the loot wouldn't be there if I went right up to it as fast as I could. So I waited about 40 meters away (I think you have to be about 30 meters away for the loot to spawn) and went afk in the trees. Came back 10 minutes later and there were at least 15 zeds wandering around. I have been able to reproduce this multiple times just as stated. If anything in this thread is not just inaccurate but blatantly wrong, I am sorry. I am not trying to spread disinformation.Edit: If you log off on a loot pile and log back in it will despawn and you'll have to leave the area to get a respawn of that loot... Probably so you can't just go server to server right on top of piles and looting them. Edited July 12, 2012 by MadZ

rodolyde 3 Posted July 12, 2012 It totally sucks, hope they fix this one real soon. I mean it sucks to have zombies seeing you real far, but this new item spawning system is, from my point of view, far worse. If only they just could have just fixed the not full mags disappearing and left the game this way...
