Admin abuse caused me and friend to be banned from RU 18

Recommended Posts

Me and a friend (Anonymoose in game) were banned from RU 18 just now. We were running north to the airfield until we saw a jeep. We opened fire and managed to kill the two people inside it. However we were both swiftly kicked from the game. I managed to re-enter the server and loot the bodies while my friend was repeatedly kicked. I entered the jeep and drove away, but then I came underfire and was then kicked.

We tried to join again but were refused entry. It said we were banned by BattleEye for hacking.

This is crazy. We have not hacked. Or done anything malicious. Unfortunately I do not have video/photo evidence to back us up. However, I'm sure that if you check the server logs you will see that we have done nothing wrong. This type of admin abuse is unacceptable. I can remember one of the names of the players we killed: Alnes.

I am able to join other servers since but still not RU 18.

Thank you and I would appreciate a quick response.

Nothing anyone here can do for a Battleye ban. Its not an admin action.

Admin didn't ban you so hardly admin abuse

Seems you scrippted sometime recently. BE bans don't usually hit the moment you do the offense.

Take it up with Battleye.

I haven't scripted at all ever - this is totally unfair.

It is only a server ban and not global too.

What can I do to prove my innocence?

Well then don't call it a battleye ban.

If its server, take it up with the admin of the server. Any contact info for them, search here for a possible thread?

Kk thanks. I'm not too worried about it because I know we have done nothing wrong and we can still play on other servers. It's just annoying that people can get away with this behaviour.

They shouldn't. I've been seeing a lot of these cases lately and it's hurting DayZ as much as exploiters/hackers. Rocket should really step up on rogue servers and server admins.

For example: http://dayzmod.com/f..._40#entry270400

"The server hosters pay a lot of money to host the game that you are playing for free. Give them the benefit of doubt, and show them a bit of respect."

^ They shouldn't be given the benefit of the doubt. If they're a rogue server or server admin they should be dealt with harshly.

As far as im aware, you can use battleye to issue local bans. So yes this was (probably) a battleye ban (initiated by server admin). No this wasn't a global battleye ban.

Please be more careful of accusations with limited knowledge of how the system works.

The point I was trying to understand with him is if it was a global battleye or admin ban. If you come in here yelling that you have a battleye ban you'll get no help and be told to contact BE, if it's a server ban then someone may help you.

Accusations? Limited knowledge? WTF are you talking about?

Well then perhaps you need to work on your reading comprehension. Op says nothing of global ban, and even goes on to say he can join other servers.

Saying admins do not apply battleye bans is incorrect and led me to believe you do not know how it actually works.

And you accuse OP in your 1st post of scripting. Hence false accusations. Do I need to link the definitions of the words I am using?

Haz, version of your game 1.7.1.5 or 1.7.2?

Admin could equate to the game bugs - cheats.

i agree, i read that thread yesterday and was shocked to believe that someone who is a memeber and considered "DayZ Community Support" would actually stick up for these server abusing adims, it ruins the game just as much as hacking does, as it provides these admins an unfair advantage over regular players, and why? because they can afford to host a server? should we give the rich tanks with infinte hellfire missiles as well?

You weren't banned by Battleye for hacking. You were banned by the admin because he didn't like you and he tried to make it look like it was a hacking ban from Battleye.

I also agree with the sentiment that some of the DayZ Community Support guys are sticking up for bad admins and it is hurting the game.

That needs to stop. I don't give two shits how much someone pays for a server. That does not give them the right to break the rules and abuse priveledges. I will show them respect when they earn the respect. Paying money doesn't earn respect. I also don't play this game for free. I paid for it. This is a mod that is currently free because it is in Alpha. Telling the players to "Harden the Fuck Up" is not only ignorant to say but also shows your lack of dedication to properly moderate and enforce rules that were put in place by the creator of this game. It also places blame on the players that are legitimately trying to keep this game fun from admins that are abusing power.
