cyberalyman@gmail.com 0 Posted July 12, 2012 I've been trying to connect to various servers all day, and most of the time they hang on the loading screen, after the lobby. When I do manage to get in though, I am dropped into what looks like a test map. There is nothing but a plain terrain mesh with grass texture, there is no grass on top of the ground, there are no trees or buildings anywhere. Occasioanlyl you meat a player character, but they just stand totally still. I tried interacting with one and one of the options was "drag body", and then I did, the player fell to the floor and died. It was like a weird dream. But yeah. I managed to get into a real, working game earlier today, but now things are just bugging out. I've verified both the ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead game caches in Steam, and it has replaced a broken file in both of them. That hasn't helped though. Any ideas?I tried to take a screenshot, but it just snapped my desktop, not the game.
ATOJAR 23 Posted July 12, 2012 I dont get it, Your thread is named "Connected to server, just terrain, no trees or buildings" but them you say "I managed to get into a real, working game earlier today"So are you actually stuck in the debug plains or not? cyberalyman@gmail.com 0 Posted July 12, 2012 Yes.All I was saying is that it DID work before, but now it doesn't.
Aerthemis 1 Posted July 12, 2012 Like mentions earlier, it looks like you are stuck in the so called "debug forest" this is a place where the developers of Bohemia Interactive tested some of the code and other stuff, I do not know why you are there but I have spawned there myself, try hitting "ESC" and respawn, maybe this will fix it.If not, try to download the newest beta-patch and if that doesn't work reinstall (or in your case (steam), redownload) the game.Good luck, and let me know if it works
