EU servers functional?

Right. Since the 1.7.2, almost all European servers have been really slow and unresponsive. I'm usually playing at the UK servers, and right now, it takes a VERY long time for me to connect, and when (IF) I do, there is no loot in them and there is extreme lag and desync. The zombies do spawn though.

Does anyone have any idea why this is and am I the only one who is encountering this issue?

P.S I'm from Europe so I generally prefer to play on European servers for less ping.
