An error in my install process? - Bad Cd Key

Recommended Posts

Edit - nevermind, I gave up. I've wasted too much time with this. DRM messing with legitimate customers again.

Hi gents,

I would appreciate it if someone could take a quick skim through my install process to see if I have made a mistake. I keep getting the badcd key and the 'you were kicked from the server' error when receiving data. I've been trying for about two days in the morning and afternoon (quiet, emptyish EU and US servers)

1. Purchased Arma2 full and Arma2OA from GamersGate

2. Installed Arma2 1.0 to path D:\games\Arma2\Bohemia Interactive (OS is on C)

3. Updated Arma2 using 1.0 to 1.09 patch

4. Updated Arma2 using 1.05> to 1.11 patch

5. Run the game once

6. Installed Operation Arrowhead to path D:\games\Arma2\Bohemia Interactive (same path as Arma2)

7. Updated Operation Arrowhead to 1.60

8. Run the game once

9. Downloaded and installed SixUpdater to C:\Program filles\etcetc

10. Open SixUpdater and under options, pointed the game and mod folder to the games install paths D:\games\Arma2\Bohemia Interactive.

11. Added a new preset for DayZ and downloaded the files. (It appears a green hexagon on the left hand pane)

12. Selected 'launch as combined operations (forced)' option in SixUpdater

13. Selected my Arma2 and OA executables and changed to 'run as adminstrator'.

14. Downloaded the latest BattlEye files (100KB and 132KB respectively) and placed them inside Arma2\BattlEye and OA\Extensions\BattlEye and overwrote.

15. Restarted the machine

16. Launched SixUpdater

17. Right click DayZ next to the green hexagon, select 'updater options' from the right click menu, then 'launch game'.

+ @DayZ is in the top right corner at the game menu

+ Arma2 and OA icons are in the bottom left at the game menu

+ All servers are yellow question makes and let me in to the lobby

+ Clicking ready leaves me at Receiving data for maybe 10 seconds, then I get either the you were kicked error, or the bad CD Key error. No other errors occur.

My next try:

Re-install everything from scratch, but on my OS partition rather than the games partition. (they are different physical hard drives)

Can you spot anything that I've done wrong?

Thanks,

Mop

I would like to add though, that I've really been enjoying the actual game :D Glad it didn't work right away, or I may well have missed that. It would be nice if it worked now though.
