Side Channel

Yes, i know some servers turn off side channel... But sometimes I see people talk with blue text... (which is the side channel) But I do not get this option on the certain server?

Also, could someone tell me a server that does have side channel? I know Chicago 30 did, but that server does not seem to be working.

I believe Texas 20 does. I wish I could get it in my server, because it's nice be able to communicate (and taunt) everyone on the map. :P

But admins don't have the choice of turning on side channel?

Are there any other servers that have side channel? TX 20 is full -.-

A few more Texas servers have it aswell. And no as an admin we can't :\

It would require editing the mission file which isn't allowed.

so how do some servers have it and others not? I thought it was an option given to the admin :/

The channels are disabled in the DayZ mission file, which is delivered to server admins by the DayZ staff. Some servers admins have edited this mission (which is not allowed), and re-enabled the side channel. I wouldn't save anything important like tents on these servers, as if they get caught for modifying the DayZ mission they might be blacklisted from HIVE.

I remember some admins also reporting that they possibly got a mission file from DayZ staff with side channel enabled. Playing on those servers should be safe.

hmm... Would you be able to give me a server that has allowed the side channel by a DayZ staff? Or how would I know if they were allowed by the DayZ staff...
