If I join a server with 1.7.2, will I lose my items? (Wearing Gillie)

Thats truely the thing that has been stopping me from playing Dayz since the patch, what would the chance be that all my items are lost?

My friend joined a server while wearing his, he still had all his stuff, his ghillie just disappared. I believe that's all it does is lose your ghillie, that seems to be what everyone else on the forums is saying.

If you already wear a ghillie/camo and join a server which is updated then your ghillie/camo will disappear. If you put in your backpack it will stay there, but if you try to equip it will disappear with all your inventory items.

My friend was wearing ghilli , it disappeared and he spawned on the coast.

Other friend was wearing camo, it disappeared and he spawned where he logged out.

i just lost my entire gear, it rolled me back to when i was in elektro today and all my stuff disappeared except a few basic things(i wasnt wearing ghillie or camo)
