Loading problems, help would be appreciated

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone ( or anyone that reads this),

I'm afraid I'm going to add to the countless amounts of threads about the 'frozen during loading screen' yada yada.

Here's the deal;

Downloaded Arma 2 (free version, waiting until payday to actually buy full, I can cope with bad textures), then bought OA.

Installed Dayz manually, then updated to 1.7.2.

I done this last night, and enjoyed several hours of playing on a server with a friend of mine. I played till around 4am (GMT) this morning (because why the hell not).

I went to sleep, and when I next went on it this afternoon and tried to connect, I couldn't.

Obviously, I tried as many options as possible.

When I join a server through the launcher, I get the message 'Wait for host' on a black screen. Nothing happens.

When I actually launch OA and join a server that way, I get 1 of 2 messages.

1: 'Bad version. Server rejected connection'

2. 'Loading' stuck here. Varies from having the loading bar or not.

I have rolled back to 1.7.5, to no avail.

I tried the 1.7.2.1 hot fix on that server, with the same problems listed above. I deleted all the Dayz files, and re downloaded. I re patched to 1.7.2 (where I am now).

I tried updating through Six updater.

I also patched to 94700.

I don't know whether it is me, or the servers.

Any help would be appreciated,

thanks.

I'd reckon it might well be you and the free version of Arma 2. The free version simply isn't meant to be used in the way you are using it, you could be getting all sorts of file errors.
