roccoc@gmail.com 11 Posted July 12, 2012 Are tents safe to use yet??
Techercizer 82 Posted July 12, 2012 Define "safe".Nothing is truely safe in Day Z. From players or glitches.
Dingus (DayZ) 429 Posted July 12, 2012 Not sure. I honestly haven't been back to mine since the patch hit.
Bubba Jones 30 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Tents still appear to be pretty glitchy. I've found that a lot of times they eat the items in them after the first server restart. Here's what I do now.Place a tent and put one item in it and then save the tent. After a server restart, check the tent. If the item is gone, put another item, save, and wait for restart again.Once the item stays after a server restart, then it seems to be fine (for the most part).About the worst thing you can do is place a tent and put high value items in it right away. From my experience, you have a high chance of losing everything on the first server restart. Edited July 12, 2012 by Bubba Jones

madzeds 3 Posted July 12, 2012 Just found my 1st tent... Any tips on good general ideas on where to put them (no specific locations obviously.) I don't want to go off the map, would like to put it somewhere near the coast, etc. Anyone found any good places (without giving specifics) and can share some tips for a noob camper? roccoc@gmail.com 11 Posted July 12, 2012 Placing them is super difficult unless someone tells you how.
madzeds 3 Posted July 13, 2012 So, none of you vets coulda mentioned not to put it under a tree lol... O well.... If someone reading this didn't know, if you put your tent under a tree, you will be unable to interact with it.

If someone reading this didn't know, if you put your tent under a tree, you will be unable to interact with it.That's not true. Go into first person mode and try looking at the corners of the A. You'll get into it.
