Zakificus 10 Posted July 12, 2012 Last night I was crawling around NWAF on a low population server. Tends to be higher traffic through there and usually decently geared people if you're looking for some new toys. After only 20 mins or so I see some zombies start to appear around the firestation and hangars. A few more minutes and I see a bunch of zombies take off running into one of the hangars, as a guy comes running out and sprints into the control tower. After taking out the zombies he runs over to the Firestation, pulling another trail of zombies. He runs back and forth a few times, clearing out the zombies before he finally heads into the control tower to loot. This time when he comes out he's going slowly, crouch walking towards the firestation. At this point I've surveyed the area and haven't seen any other survivors covering him. As I'm waiting for a decent shot I range him, and figure my best bet will be to hit him when he's coming back out of the firestation. As he walks out of the large double doors I aim, steady my scope, and count down to my shot. Right as I'm about to fire he moves suddenly and crouch runs to the hangar. At this point I'm going to just wait until he is at a loot pile, since I know where he's going. After a few more seconds he stops and I take aim. I hold my breath and count down once more. Just as I'm about to fire I hear a shot and see the dirt beneath his feet get hit. My target takes off running, meanwhile I turn to the treeline across the hangar and get the sound of the second and third shots centered through my speakers. I don't see anyone, but zombies come rushing into the area, so I scan up the metal tower to see someone prone at the top. One shot from the AS50 puts him down, then I turn my attention back towards the patrol tower where the other guy has taken refuge. He pokes his head up in the patrol tower window looking to see if his attacker is still there, one more shot and he's down. Not much good loot, but very exciting none-the-less.Moral of the story, take a few seconds/minutes to make sure you have a good shot. Not to mention the other benefits if someone more hasty is in the area. Patience turned one target into two.

Zakificus 10 Posted July 13, 2012 One shot 1 kill!Haha, the only reason I ever get good shots like that is because I usually spend about 10 minutes ranging key areas when I find a spot to stay. I have a little notepad next to my keyboard, so I'll range everything: distance to near and far sides of each hangar, control tower, firestation, barracks if the view distance lets me see them, key points on the tree line across from the hangars, etc.At that point it just is a quick "target is near wherever and the closest measurement makes that at however many meters. Zero to the closest setting, adjust for additional drop/movement and pew pew lol. Then making sure nobody heard / zombies aren't running at you. With the adrenaline of a successful kill, remaining calm and dealing with the next threat (usually zombies) as quickly as possible is the hardest part.
