I need some help please.

Well, i'm thinking about buying Arma 2: Operation arrowhead and use the Arma 2 Free to run the mod, but i saw that there's a HUUUUGE difference on the graphics quality from Arma 2 to Arma 2 Free.

My question is:

I know that i need to buy the Operation arrowhead to run the mod, but do i have to buy the Arma 2 to get better graphics, or the mod runs using the Operation arrowhead (Which i presume that has better graphics)?

Please, help me with that, cuz the graphics of Arma 2 Free are terrible.

DayZ runs on the map from core Arma2 (not OA), therefore you will have to buy Arma2 if you dont want to play on map with really ugly low res textures...

Arma 2 is fine... if you really care that much about graphics.. than the game overall probably isn't for you. If you can't run a version of a game with slightly duller TEXTURES.. because you're too much of a 'i need gfx to enjoy my game', than DayZ probably won't be fun for you.

I mean if you can't put up with a dull texture, how will you put up with dying every other second?

I'm not saying i'm a graphical whore, i'm just saying that the Arma 2 looks like ps2, while arma 2 free looks like freakin ps1. But thanks anyways.

Low res textures are fine, things dont look all that shiney with high res pack anyway. If you have the money and computing power to run it all on full settings then go right ahead, but know there is plenty of fun being had in high and low res while you make up your mind
