Steam Version vs Retail Version

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a physical copy of Arma 2 (Non-Steam Version). If I buy OA off of steam, will day z work? Do I need to have both the physical copies or both steam copies for it to work? And No, I just can't add Arma 2 to steam, because the physical copies of Arma 2 cannot be added to steam.

Thanks.

They should work fine, I guess.

A friend of mine has Arma 2 on steam and a retail version of Arrowhead.

It will work. If you launch through sixupdater you should be fine regardless, but if you want to combine the two games into Combined Operations, you can copy all of the contents of the ARMA 2 folder into the steam folder for operation arrowhead. This means that you can create shortcuts on your desktop, as an example to illustrate; here is mine:

Target: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -world=empty "-mod=expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ

Start in: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2"
