Help Needed

Hey all, I have been playing dayz for about 3-4 days no problems, until today. I started freezing and crashing to desktop with error cyclic data check. I can load in fine everything works good until my character is about to load into the world, then I hear BING! the error. Anyone have any idea what this could be.

if it's "data error cyclic redundancy check", then you may have a HDD issue.

Either there are some corrupt files, or the disk is corrupt.

If it is that error, run a check disk asap!

I did search google too and that error seems to have something with a disk or hard drive. I redownloaded OA and set the mod in again. I also did a check file through steam and it says 1 files is corrupt and something about being reacquired but I wait then I run another check file and it still tells me the file is corrupt. I ran it about 4 times and steam is not fixing the file.

My computer is new, about 2 months old, built it my self. I don't know if it is a hard drive issue yet, but I do know this after multiple fails. When I first go into a server to the lobby is fine then when I click OK I don't see those files load the 24kb or the 41kb anymore, I know that when that file doesn't load and it goes straight to the loading screen my game will crash as soon as I load in the world. I just don't know exactly which file is that.

you say you've done a check file through steam... but have you ran a check disk in windows?

I checked it, I think it came out clean, I didn't blue screen or saw any bad files pretty much everything was 0 up until the end, stuff really went down too fast to read and my computer just restarted its self, no problems.

hmmm... might just be some fudged game or mod files then.

in that case i'd do a complete uninstall/re-install of the game and the mod

so after uninstalling, deleting any remaining folders before re-installing

Well, I re installed both arma 2 and OA and now it works just fine. :) thnx for the help.
