vehicle parts in backpack?

Recommended Posts

guys am I missing something here? I only seem to be able to put vehicle parts in my personal inventory (12 slots) My normal way of scrolling on itme, going to gear, opening bag then putting item into bag doesnt work.

Are you meaning to tell me that not only do I need to find four wheels and parts and jerry cans, I need to find one at a time, and store them all somewhere? The prospect of finding parts for a car, let alone finding the car itself is a bit rediculous if this is the case, or am I just storing it wrong?

Thanks for your help guys

Hmm, that is pretty weird, you are supposed to be able to put in "everything" in the backpack. What kind of backpack are you using? And no you should be able to store it in the backpack as I said!

If you just find a single car part laying on the ground, I believe you can't get the "gear"-option. You can only "Pick up [car part]". And how do you move the car part from your inventory to your backpack? You pick the car part up to your inventory, and from there you move it to your backpack.

Should work like that. It has for me. You could always try and drop something on the same pile that the car part is on, and then see if you get the "gear"-option.

edit: And of course if it only gives you the "Pick up [car part]"-option, you can't directly put it in your backpack. You have to pick it up to your "normal" inventory first, and then move it from there.

I've been having the "Gear" option sometimes while picking up Jerry cans or fueltank parts. But I don't know maybe it's just not normal that it happends? Of course I moved the Jerry cans from their spawn then. So maybe you're right Pahvilaatikko :P

ok can someone please ive me an instruction on moving it to my back pack from inventory? just dropped and lost two wheels trying to.

Way im doing it: first open back pack, then highlight wheel in inventory, click right arrow next to word (SPARE WHEEL) on the left

edit: and to answer someones question ive got an Alice Backpack with plenty of room in it. it does have a second primary rifle in it if that matters

ok guys I solved it, if you find a car parts that only has PICKUP *SAID ITEM* and not the normal GEAR option in green when you look at it, you can drop an item next to it (ie a tin can) and then this will enable the GEAR option. From here you can scroll to GEAR, open bag and insert the TYRE or whathaveyou into the bag. I just carry around a can to do this when scavenging. Thanks for allyour help guys

Yeah the vehicle parts act a bit weird, the only advice i can give on the matter is that you leave room in your main inventory so you can pick it up. The part then turns into a normal piece of kit which you can move around into your bag, or you could drop it again and then move it into your backpack, whatever makes your happier.
