silentbob@nicey-css.co.uk 1 Posted July 12, 2012 Hello all DayZersIve had a server with Multiplay now for a couple of weeks GB #99 & tbh im still getting my head around a few things. The question i have is in the logs i seem to be getting the messages below.21:58:34 clanforge_auto Server is using too much memory for 24 players [1322373120 > 1237215072] (new) ( restarting )21:57:32 clanforge_auto Server had issues ( using too much memory for 26 players [1319059456 > 1285387528] (new) ) for 60 seconds ( Restarted 0 time(s) ) 16:43:07 clanforge_auto Server is using too much memory for 21 players [1358680064 > 1164956388] (new) ( restarting ) 16:42:04 clanforge_auto Server had issues ( using too much memory for 22 players [1361940480 > 1189042616] (new) ) for 60 seconds ( Restarted 0 time(s) ) 16:36:30 clanforge_auto Server had issues ( using too much CPU for 31 players [146.471 > 139.0285] (new) ) for 60 seconds ( Restarted 0 time(s) ) 10:04:14 clanforge_auto Server is using too much memory for 15 players [905228288 > 900439020] (new) ( restarting ) 10:03:13 clanforge_auto Server had issues ( using too much memory for 14 players [901885952 > 884352792] (new) ) for 60 seconds ( Restarted 0 time(s) ) 03:20:33 clanforge_auto Auto restarted ( startup check ) Is it normal for so many crashes to be happening in a day. Its happens at least a couple of times a day. Ive set the server to restart every 4 hours now to see if it eases the problem. Speaking to Multiplay staff they seem to think its a arma 2 problem. Open to all sorts of advice.
YoChris 1 Posted July 12, 2012 yea, thats why they advice to restart every 4 hours with 60+ players, 5 hours for 50+ players and 6 hours for 40 players
boomnet@blueyonder.co.uk 17 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) those number are the amount of memory the server is using in bytes,16:43:07 clanforge_auto Server is using too much memory for 21 players [1358680064 > 1164956388] (new) ( restarting ) 1 358 680 064 bytes = 1.26536942 gigabytesThats a lot for a server with only 21 peeps on it, Ive seen mine peak at 1.8gb!The Arma server.exe suffers from a memory leak, faff all multiplay can do about it(^wtf is this text formating, hate these new forums) Edited July 12, 2012 by Boomsling
12enegade 5 Posted July 12, 2012 I've also had similar messages in ClanForge. Server does seem to crash after about 8 hours or so. Will have to look into setting up an auto restart every 4 or 5 hours. Have you guys experience many de-synching issues? Last night we played and kept getting yellow and red broken links coming up every so often and then had a server crash and when we logged back on we all ended up about 2 hours back from when we first logged on! YoChris 1 Posted July 12, 2012 server starts to desync when reaching 1,1gb of memory per server. thats nothing new so far. but Dayz is working on this, and also working on better server fps
silentbob@nicey-css.co.uk 1 Posted July 12, 2012 The de-sync thing was going to be my next question. For some reason we were all getting the little picture happening alot. I wasnt sure if it was due to the update. I will have to monitor it. Weird thing is when the guys play on the good old american servers it dosnt seem to happen no where near as much. Weird as there playing from the UK & Holland.
