Running 2 copies of the game,... Q's

Recommended Posts

So I purchased 2 copies of Arma 2 CO (1 through Steam, 1 from GG)

I did this so I could start a new character to use to make my survivor new players guide video's

I installed 1 copy on my primary User on Win 7, 2nd install on a separate drive using a new Windows 7 User.

Problem is once I tried loading up my main acct. updated to 1.7.2 with Six updater and joined a server it used my primary key probably because GG's version of OA is also a steam version.

I assume i can get back to my secondary character by changing the key on my 2nd User in the registry but if that is possible i can't find the spot to change the key.

The forum post that explained how this might work is no longer available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same problem. way i did it was, run it with steam, export the registry folder, then delete that key, run it through non-steam source so it makes another hex, and export that as my "non-steam" reg file. then double click the .reg for the given character and run the steam version to play.

there's a youtube video somewhere where some guy outlined it better

EDIT: i should say,i had to uninstall and redownload/reinstall the non-steam version completely to get this to work, it was an all-day project because i ran them both before exporting either registry

So what is the Registry key that you exported? I'm having trouble finding it. Oh and do you or anyone else know a link to the video outlining the fix?
