They were disabled in 1.7.1; no idea if 1.7.2 re-enabled them, some rumors said they were, but nothing confirmed.

Not sure what the bugs were, but I think desync causing crashes was one of the reasons.

Didn't the dev team say they were still disabled as of 1.7.2.0?

It was more a revamp of ideas and fixing glitches in the game. So they took them out but hopefully will be back in soon.

But for now I dont worry about people on rooftops to often
