SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE SOME SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS :/

Recommended Posts

Right, well... I have being playing DayZ and have somehow got it working, I am playing on a shortcut I have made from the A2 OA Beta Patch and I run it from my desktop...

If I don't do this then when I try to join some DayZ servers it says requires blah blah blah, and when I can join them it freezes on the loading screen.

Am I doing the right thing.

Even If I am can someone PLEASE post a tutorial or something and I will do exactly that... again and make sure, because I really want to run it from steam :s

You need to launch it from SixLauncher, which brings up the server list.

From here you select your server based on location, population, and ping...

ONCE your ArmA beings launching CLOSE THE LAUNCHER.

The reason for this is that the launcher will continually refresh that list of servers which will ultimately affect your connection and your FPS will take a SERIOUS hit.

Best of luck sir. Enjoy death.

How long have you been stuck on loading? Recently, it can take a while to get into a server.

Running the game through steam with the beta patch + having the overlay function, can be a bit of a hassle, I would recommend sykotix .bat file for launching ArmA 2 with the beta patch and DayZ.

ATOJAR's Guide works as well, BUT, copying your beta directory into the 'root' ArmA II directory can have negative implecations down the road, primarily if you play any other ArmA II mods that do NOT require the beta patches. I prefer having my beta patches optional. If the Wiki guide does not make sense, add me on Steam and I will walk you through it this weekend.
