Notes, Diaries, Journals, and Lore

Recommended Posts

Dayz is an amazing game that puts people's wits and emotions against each other. Every life we lead, we create an amazing (or not so amazing) story that we love to share with one another, and we remember each and every moment of every adventurous life we've led. Dayz is amazing in that there is no in-game lore to speak of, but so much depth with no outlet in-game to share these tales.

On to the suggestion:

What if we happen to come across a nice cottage of a resident who used to enjoy writing? Or perhaps a student who had a notebook, and some writing utencils? Would it be a difficult thing of adding the ability to write notes or diaries? Upon death, people could come across these, and hopefully, they've come across the body of a writer, and now has a nice story to retreat to the forest and read.

I'm no developer or coder or script writer or anything like that , so I have no idea if the ArmA engine can even do things like this. So I do apologize if this was a frivolous suggestion, but I do feel it would add soooo much depth to an already deliciously juicy game.

Yeah, I too really love to find things like that. I like this idea and would love to see it implemented.

I have an old thread explaining how it could work out it should be in my signature.

Oh my bad man, I was at work using my tablet, and was way too eager to post than to search. My sincerest apologies, I'm sure yours is WAY more explained, I'll link your thread in mine as to put the traffic where it counts.

edit: The link you provided must be to the old dayz forums? It doesn't seem to be working for me.
