Suggestion: reanimation of killed friends

it would be nice if i had a small chance (50:50,until 2 minutes after death, for example) to reanimate (like an emergency operation) a killed friend by using a defi-kit (if it can be implemented) + blood bag + morphine + epinephrine.

This has been suggested so many times already.

None of this items will restart a stopped heart. But then, by the time someone dies in this game, their body is usually in a condition that would prevent resuscitation anyway.

The Epi-Pen revives people in a state of near-death unconsciousness- considered by me, at least, to be a representation of cardiac arrest.

I think it's not a terrible idea, but lets not call it "reanimation" okay, people will get the wrong idea. Like WoW style resurrection spells.

I think with some consideration, though a defibrillator-type object might work.

It's important to note that a defibrillator does not restart stopped hearts as is popularly depicted on TV or movies. It's actually just about reestablishing a healthy cardiac rhythm if your heart is beating irregularly.

If your heart stops beating all a defibrillator is going to do is burn your dead skin off.

So, here's what I think we would need to do to make this work:

• First, the items would have to be extremely rare. Like, rarer than NVGs.
  
• Second, the items should only be functional for 1-3 applications maximum. Perhaps they can be recharged using the fabled Portable Generators we have been hearing so much about, but there's no way they could function as do matches or hatchets and allow infinite re-use. The power is simply too great.
  
• Last, the item would not bring players back from the dead, but rather delay death temporarily. If a player is unconscious and losing blood, a defibrillator could temporarily slow or stop the loss of blood to allow time for a transfusion and/or bandage. So, for example, maybe you can hit the defibrillator at any point above -1000 blood or so and prolong life for ~10 seconds - just enough time to bandage, apply a tranfusion and an epi-pen.
  

In summary: they need to be rare, carry a limited number of uses, and be applicable only in cases of "almost dead" - they should not be resurrects.

Otherwise you're skirting over into the realm of mad science and voodoo.

not what i expected with the title, but what i figured u were talking about was when people die they come back as zombies. not sure if its possible but would be cool. if at anytime during ur characters life u are hit by a zombie and begin bleeding, u are now infected, and when die u turn into a zombie(they could turn into zombies whenever their body despawns). im not suggesting that people would now be playing as those zombies, but that they would now become NPCs, keeping the player skin, along with any gear that was left on the corpse.

Will be rather unrealistic unless it only applies to specific situations. When you get shot down by a sniper round through your head, no reanimation is going to save you.

i does not have to write english very often.

i know that a defi cannot reactivate a stopped heart, but hey, it's a game. cardiac massage, epinephrine, defibrillator...what more can i do for a broken heart. :)

it is only an idea because, when you are in a group with your friends, you are willing to do everything to help them, especially they were shot by a single guy, somewhere in nowhere.

and finally, it has to be very very rare because, a comeback should be your greatest moment. :cool:

Dude, theres absolutely nothing wrong with your English it's bordering on poetic. With regard to the thread, I think it's fine as it is. Theres already various states that you go through as you near death so you can already be resussed. Death is final.
