sloppzz 3 Posted July 11, 2012 Hi there,I have bought a server through vilayer, and i want to be able to lock it so that only my friends can join.Every time i start the server, and commence the mission it works fine... then the second i click 'lock' the server seems to crash and not work.Has anyone any experience that they can kindly pass onto me to help me out?CheersMartin Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jskibo 143 Posted July 11, 2012 In addition to a potential blacklist form the Hive, I believe Vilayer will boot you as well if you violate by passwording the server.......and its admins like you that cause trouble for the rest of us trying to run a clean set of servers. howichrgelazer 69 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Sloppzz. The only time you may lock a server is when they are too many people in the lobby waiting to process using BEC. Servers cannot be locked just for friends, it is against DayZ hosting policy and your server can possibly be revoked. A simple yes or no answer would suffice, instead of making a comment which makes me come to the conclusion that you are probably a total tool.Ive hosted servers in the past, and been able to lock them for clan usage.End of the day its my money... so i should be able to choose how i use my server. Im new to dayz, and all we wanted to know was could we lock it to stop total idiots coming on and camping it out and spoiling the game.Tbh all i wanted was a bit of help and support from this so called 'community'... however its comments like yours which just make me wonder why i bother.
