dgeesio 1034 Posted July 11, 2012 alot of people play this together but cause of the sheer size of the maps this doesnt lend well to playing with friends.online mp games = friends or playing with friends.this needs to be looked at and certain ways of joining with each other. federik21 42 Posted July 11, 2012 Go to an empy server, run to a place in the medium of the distance between you and your friend, disconnect and find a good server.you can tell your position via TS or Steam chat.
AscendedMike 0 Posted July 11, 2012 1) Log in, find your location at the bottom right of the screen... Ask your friends location2) Visit http://dayzmap.info/ and check for a point between both your locations.3) Run.Anything else would take away from the sheer size of the map. And the map size is one of the best things on this game.

nathan_quayle@hotmail.com 2 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Then explain it to them. :P If they're at Cherno & you're at Elektro, simply tell them to run with the coast on their right shoulder. :P Edited July 11, 2012 by Honeypuff
BadCarti 5 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Don't be so lazy, just go to Cherno or Elektro and then link the Map to your friends and they have to find their way around the Map..We all started out as Newcomers? :) Edited July 11, 2012 by Nine
psylnz 34 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) alot of people play this together but cause of the sheer size of the maps this doesnt lend well to playing with friends.online mp games = friends or playing with friends.this needs to be looked at and certain ways of joining with each other. It's a toss up. On one hand if you let people spawn closer to their friends, death ends up having less in game meaning. On the other hand, the way this game is set up now, it discourages grouping. Your friend dies and respawns on the other side of the map, and it's going to take them 45 minutes or more to run back to you. That may be fine for us gaming addicts who will spend 8 hours+/per day playing video games. But to the average joe who can only sink an hour or two a night into video games, DayZ becomes something they just don't have the time for. (off topic the same idea could be applied to spawning with no weapon at all).If it were my call, I'd say let the player roughly choose their beach spawn zone. Thus if you want to hang with your pals, stick near the coast and you won't have to respawn too far away, and its great for Bandits too, as they'll have more targets in the same area. It would liven up the coastal towns alot. With the spawn on the Beach, the interior towns would remain the "big risk" for th "big loot". dgeesio 1034 Posted July 11, 2012 glad to see you some people actually understand why making the game more accessable to friends is good
bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted July 11, 2012 It's already easy enough, anything more would comprimise the core idea of DayZ and open up a lot of exploitation.

I refuse to accept that every game has to be accessible to everyone. There is such a thing a a niche market.
SkullFace45 (DayZ) 3 Posted July 11, 2012 It would be nice but it isn't really bad, it just means you have to explain to your mates what is where. Although it's a pain sometimes, it ain't that bad :P
