Multiple players on same LAN, seperate computers and steam accounts?

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I was not able to find anything in my searches.

Me and my brother are hoping to play DayZ together. We each own copies of Arma 2:Combined Operations, on seperate steam accounts and computers. However, whenever we try to log in, we are each assigned the same DayZ character, causing one of us to get kicked off if the other is already playing.

We are both using the same router, but i've found posts stating that other players have managed to get around this by changing the "GUID" in Six Updater. How would I go about this? I can't find anything relevant using google.

I've had a friend over to LAN, where we both had A2:CO on our own computers, behind the same router, and there was no problem.

If you both go into the profile editor and check your character ID's, are they different or the same?

I had a problem. Solved the problem by connecting one computer to the proxy server
