Smartphones

With all the incredibly awesome suggestions that are being posted I thought of another one.. We should be able to have a smartphone in game so I can quickly check my text messages without having to actually stop playing. I think this is critical to the game mechanics and in fact if Rocket doesn't add it I'm going to stop playing this game and all other games and will throw my computer out of the window and stomp my foot and look very angry.

I second this- if we are truly going for a REAL survival experience I shouldn't have to come away from my computer. Ever. Even to eat, or crap- eating in game should fill me IRL, this would be truly game changing for me

Jokes aside, the ability to send text messages and voice communication through a smart phone directly to a single individual or group of people from range would be quite nice. I don't know if it's possible for modders to add additional communication channels to facilitate this though. Maybe it's something BIS could open up to modding by request.

Smartphones would not work due to the reliance on a powered and running cell network.. Old-school radios would work, but I believe there is some issue implementing this due to the existing A2 design?

I'm not sure but I think the Chernarus Life mod has cellphones?

I feel this suggestion should be expanded and add some mechanic to radio towers. If bandits or zombies wanna go and break down communications, they should be able to and force survivors to get to these towers and find parts to repair it.

But yeah, I think that every player should start with a phone(I mean, it IS the most common object most people should/would have)

Then, there has to be some charging/electricity thing added, so if you use it constantly, you'd have to charge once in a while. and finding another player's phone would allow you to read their text messages and stuff :D
